What makes us who we are as a church?......
Every once in a while someone will say “I wish we could all be one big church.” I couldn’t disagree more. I believe God has given us different churches because there are so many different people. In this section, I hope to define the characteristics that make us unique and justify our existence as a church.
1. PASSIONATE WORSHIP. Led by our praise and worship team we will passionately praise God every Sunday. The service starts, and many, especially our youth flood the altar area to really praise God and “get with it.” It is a major party and it rocks! Serving God is exciting, thus we consider dancing, clapping, singing, and even shouting as valid and biblical expressions of our praise.
2. INTERGENERATIONAL. We believe that every age group has a role to play in the development of the healthy church. We offer nursery, pre-k, kidz church, youth, and other adult activities in addition to our Sunday services.
3. BIBLE BASED. We preach from the Word of God. It’s called The Good News for a reason. To make it boring is a sin. You will not fall asleep during the preaching.
4. FRIENDLY. I can’t tell you how many people have told me that they visited a church and no one greeted them. At Life Church, we will let you know that it mattered to us that you showed up! We have some pretty creative fellowships so that friendships in the church will be naturally developed. The bottom line is, we like people.
5. HONEST. It is only by coming to terms with our own weaknesses that we can access God’s power. At Life Church, you will find real people who serve a real God.
6. FUN. We tend to laugh a lot-right in the church! Laughter is good medicine. It takes the edge off of life. WE use humor and creativity in our approach, but laughter is just a by-product of people who love God and love each other.
7. HUNGER. We will not be mediocre. We will not be a weak, impotent, dry, pathetic church. We must WANT MORE! We refuse to stay at the same level. God has blessed this determination. We realize that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the only thing that can really satisfy. People are getting born-again and filled with His Spirit on a consistent basis!
8. RELATIONSHIP FOCUSED. Church is about two things: relationship with God and relationship with people. We will encourage you to fall in love with God and watch every other area of your life take it’s proper place.
